Which Juvederm Injectable Filler Is Right for You?

Which Juvederm Injectable Filler Is Right for You?

Here at the Offices of Jim Brantner, MD, we get a lot of questions about the different kinds of Juvederm injectable fillers we offer: Vollure, Volbella, and Voluma. Here’s a quick primer on the differences between these three injectables, and what they can do for you!

woman applying moisturizerFirst, the similarities: all three products are made from molecules of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the skin. Hyaluronic acid helps keeps skin plump and looking youthful. Each product is made by converting this sugar into a gel that can be used to achieve specific goals. All three injectables are minimally invasive and include a numbing agent to minimize discomfort. What are the differences?

  • Volbella is the thinnest gel, and the most spreadable. It’s best for fine areas around eyes and lips. Volbella is also used to smooth scarring leftover from facial acne.
  • Voluma is the thickest, strongest, and longest lasting gel. It’s best for deeper injections around the cheeks. It’s been likened to a “liquid facelift.”
  • Vollure is a nice middle ground of the other two – it has flexibility and staying power. It’s especially great for the area around the nose because it allows freedom of movement and expression but still has staying power.

But which filler is best for you? Only a consultation with Dr. Brantner can answer that. Together you’ll go over your goals, address any concerns and questions you may have and decide on the best course of action to achieve your goals! Contact us today to set up an appointment.

Why Winter is the Best Time for Plastic Surgery

Why Winter is the Best Time for Plastic Surgery

You may not think of the colder months as a good time to have plastic surgery, but here at the offices of Jim Brantner, MD, we think differently! Winter can be a very convenient time for cosmetic procedures.

Recovering from many cosmetic procedures will probably require you to spend some time indoors. What better time to do that than in the winter? The weather is already uninviting. Time your procedures well and you’ll be healed and ready to enjoy the sunshine come spring. Plus, the holidays already come with built-in time off of work for people in many professions. Combine that with the last of your vacation time and take a recovery staycation!

We work hard to keep our procedures affordable, accept many types of insurance, and offer a number of payment options, but there is still a cost component to cosmetic procedures. The end of the year often comes with additional income, whether in the form of holiday bonuses or monetary gifts. Plus, any extra HSA funds you may have will need to be used by the beginning of the year. If you know someone who has been wanting a particular procedure, an offer to assist with payment can be a thoughtful, useful, and personalized gift. What better treat after all the chaos of the holiday season?

Whatever your reasons for wanting a procedure, Dr. Brantner and the staff here are ready to help you make the best decision for your health and your needs. Contact us to schedule a consultation, or just to ask any questions you may have. We’re here to help!
